Service Fee Explained
How the 5% guest-side service fee works, how it appears at checkout, and how the Flat model eliminates it. Use clear Menuella steps for your restaurant.
Menuella offers two billing models. The fee shown at checkout depends on which model you use.
Service Model — 5% Guest-Side Fee
On the Service model (€124/month), Menuella adds a 5% fee to the guest's cart at checkout. This fee:
- Is paid by the guest, not by your restaurant
- Appears as a separate line item at checkout:
"Our online provider charges a small fee. This helps cover costs related to your order including 24/7 support."
- Is displayed transparently before the guest confirms payment
- Is significantly lower than the 15–20% that platforms like Lieferando or Wolt add
Example: A €12.30 order shows a €0.62 service fee. The guest pays €12.92. Your restaurant receives €12.30.
Your restaurant keeps 100% of food sales. The service fee covers platform costs on the guest's side.
Flat Model — No Guest Fee
On the Flat model (€249/month), there is no guest-side service fee. Guests pay only your menu prices. The flat model is designed for businesses with €5,000+ in monthly online sales where eliminating the fee improves the guest experience and the fixed cost becomes efficient.
