Menu Availability
Temporarily show or hide products, categories, and modifiers across the Menuella Dashboard, Mobile App, and Menuella Terminal.
Menu availability controls whether an item can currently be ordered. Use it for temporary operational changes such as a sold-out product, an unavailable category, or a modifier that cannot be prepared.
Availability is shared across Menuella surfaces. A change made in the Dashboard, Mobile App, or Menuella Terminal updates the same restaurant data and can affect the ordering experience.
Choose your platform
Select the surface you are using. The underlying availability state is shared, but the controls and navigation are different.
Availability on each Menuella surface
Use the Dashboard when you need full menu management as well as availability. From the menu management area, update availability for the relevant product, category, or modifier.
The Dashboard is also the right place to change menu content, prices, images, allergens, modifiers, and menu structure.
The Menuella Mobile App supports the same operational availability controls from the menu or availability screens. The layout can differ between iOS and Android, but the result is shared with the Dashboard and Terminal.
On Menuella Terminal, open the drawer and choose Store → Item availability. The screen has three tabs:
- Products — Enable or disable individual products
- Categories — Enable or disable whole categories
- Modifiers — Enable or disable modifier options
Terminal is designed for quick service-time changes. Use the Dashboard or Mobile App for broader menu editing.
What availability changes
| Change | Result |
|---|---|
| Disable a product | The product cannot be ordered while unavailable. |
| Disable a category | Products in that category are not available through the ordering experience. |
| Disable a modifier | Guests cannot select that modifier option. |
| Enable an item again | The item becomes available according to the restaurant's other settings, such as hours and order type. |
Availability does not replace opening hours, delivery zones, order settings, or menu editing. Those controls answer different questions:
- Availability: Can this item be ordered right now?
- Opening hours: Is the restaurant accepting orders at this time?
- Order settings: Which order types, timings, and capacity rules apply?
- Menu editing: What is the item, how much does it cost, and how is it presented?
