How to Manage Product Tax Rates
Set and update the tax rate stored on a menu product so order totals and tax reporting use the correct product-level rate.
Product tax rates are part of the product’s pricing information. Set the rate that applies to the product and keep it current when tax rules or the product’s classification changes.
Set a product tax rate
- Open Menu → Products.
- Create a product or open an existing product.
- Open the Pricing section.
- Enter the applicable Tax rate as a percentage.
- Save the product.
For a new product, set the tax rate before making the product visible to guests.
Update a tax rate
- Open Menu → Products.
- Select the product.
- Open Pricing and update Tax rate.
- Save the changes.
The updated rate applies to new order calculations. Existing orders keep the tax values recorded when they were placed.
Important
- Enter the rate required for the product and store, such as a standard, reduced, or zero rate.
- Tax rates are product-specific; changing one product does not automatically change other products.
- Check the resulting order total and financial tax breakdown after changing a rate.
- Menuella does not determine which rate your business must charge. Confirm the applicable rate with your tax professional or local tax authority.
