Direct Guest Relationship

A direct guest relationship exists when a restaurant enables orders and repeat orders through its own channel, rather than giving the connection to a marketplace.

Why it matters

Delivery marketplaces can make a restaurant discoverable to new guests. Once a guest already knows the restaurant, though, the ordering route determines who maintains the relationship: the restaurant or the marketplace.

A direct guest relationship starts with a clear link to the restaurant’s own ordering page and a reliable experience there. That gives a guest a deliberate direct option next time, without ruling out marketplaces for first discovery.

Example

A guest first finds a restaurant on a marketplace. For their next order, they use the restaurant’s link and order on its own site.
